In a classic David and Goliath struggle, Wales defeated Belgium at the Cardiff City Stadium yesterday, in the qualifiers for the Euros 2016. Belgium, who were unbeaten since the 2014 World Cup, dominated play but were frustrated by the resilient Welsh defence.
In the 25th minute Gareth Bale was able to capitalise on a mistake by Radja Nainggolan and found the goal with ease, his fifth in six qualifiers. Wales are now at the top of Group B on 14 points, three points clear of second place Belgium. Israel and Cyprus both have 9 points with Bosnia-Hercegovina on 8, and Andorra remain pointless at the bottom.
