Barcelona beat Juventus by 3 goals to 1 at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium yesterday, and were crowned Champions of Europe for the fifth time – the third time in only six years. For most pundits, it would have taken a miracle for Juventus to outplay Barcelona’s brilliant front three; Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar Jr. However, it was Ivan Rakitic who scored the first goal for Barca after just 4 minutes play.
Despite Barcelona looking like they were cruising to an easy victory, Juvenus’ Alvaro Morata equalised early on in the second half, and there were calls for a penalty when Dani Alves took down Paul Pogba only moments before Suarez reclaimed Barca’s lead. Neymar then sealed Juventus’ fate with a goal in the 90th minute.
