Rooney’s rapid Response to Robertson’s Jam

Rooney rapid response

Last night, England left Celtic Park with their sixth successive win after comfortably beating Scotland 3:1. Captain Wayne Rooney, scored a brace of goals, which leaves him only three goals short of Sir Bobby Charlton’s all time record of 49.

Oxlade-Chamberlain scored first, followed by Rooney, leaving the Lions 2:0 up at half time. However, a goal from Andrew Robertson in the second half gave Scotland renewed hope that they could get back into the game. However, this reprieve was only brief, as Rooney netted an emphatic shot only 2 minutes later.

A good game. I was impressed by England’s work-rate and ball-winning. They missed some sitters though and I still think they make too many mistakes. I keep telling myself they don’t look like tournament winning material. Must not get my hopes up!

It was a good game, but yeah, too many mistakes! Still, we’ve got to hope this group of players can really gel and iron out the mistakes before the Euros, because let’s face it, we will get our hopes up – total masochism!
