Humbled Arsenal shown the way by Swans

the way by swans

Arsenal slid down into 6th place in the Premier League tables yesterday after Swansea came back from falling a goal behind to win 2:1. Alexis Sanchez scored for the gunners in the 63rd minute, but yet again Arsenal were undone by a leaky defense, allowing goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Bafetimbi Gomis to cost them the three points.

The match, which took place at the Liberty Stadium was a wet affair, with much of the game played in torrential rain. However, it was a wash out in more ways than one for Arsenal, with this defeat following a dismal Champions League performance against Anderlecht in midweek. meanwhile, the Swans go from strength to strength and currently sit in 5th place in the table.

  1. I’ve been lurking for a while but I just wanted to drop by and say that I always enjoy your posts! You are very talented! Do you keep every single knitted footballer that you do or take them apart once you’ve posted? 😉

Aw thank you! I’ll come clean – I have been known to ‘upcycle’ one player into another on occasion. (You might not believe it, but Louis Van Gaal started out as Frank Lampard, but to me, he has that perfect ‘squashedness’ of face to only truly be LVG). I do have a nice collection of players now which means I don’t have to knit quite so furiously after MOTD anymore, but I’ve plans afoot to launch the little fellas onto the world via etsy, so watch this space! 🙂
