Who’s a proper Charlie?

You have to feel for poor Charlie Austin. It was bad enough having two goals disallowed in QPR’s match against title holders Manchester City yesterday, but his celebratory performance of ‘the funky chicken – the disco years’ left him with egg on his face when he turned round to find everyone on the pitch waiting for him to realise his goal had been voided over a technicality over Joe Hart’s ‘double’ kick.

However, it didn’t put him off his game and he came back to score again putting Rangers in the lead. A goal from Sergio Aguero put Man City back in the game, only for Demichaelis to score an own goal attempting to clear Zamora’s header. It was looking like QPR might claim all three points, but Aguero wasn’t finished yet and equalised for City in the last few minutes of the match. Finishing 2:2, the home side came away with real reasons to be positive about their continuing tenure in the Premier League, while there must be serious concerns in the Manchester City camp after yesterday and their Champions League performances of late.
